Herpes Symptoms

Symptoms of genital herpes can vary greatly in presentation, severity and duration in different people, and even in the same person during different outbreaks. The possible symptoms include:
- Headache
- Aching joints
- Tiredness
- Fever
- Leg Pain
- Flu-like symptoms
- Enlarged groin lymph nodes
- Painful urination
- Itching
- Discharge from penis or vagina
- Blisters, ulcers, lesions or sores on the throat, mouth, genitals, cervix , thighs, near the anus, on the buttocks and/or inside the urethra
If you think your symptoms are consistent with genital herpes, your next step should be to see a doctor or health care provider. Family doctors, dermatologists, gynecologists, urologists, and infectious disease specialists are all familiar with genital herpes, and can help you sort out your choices for confirming a diagnosis.
