Vulvar Vestibulitis Study

The Center for Growth, Inc is currently running a pilot study on Vulvar Vestibulitis.  This study is part of the dissertation that I am working on at Widener University.  If you have this condition and are interested in participating, please contact me, Jennifer Foust, M.S., LPC   at 215-922-5683 ext. 4.  To See my CV .  To participate in this study, you will need to answer the questions over the phone with me or schedule an appointment to meet with me.  If you would like to schedule an appointment to meet with me in person, I will pay you $10 to compensate you for your time. 

  • Have you ever experienced or been diagnosed with a vaginal pain disorder?

  • Have you ever been diagnosed with vulvar vestibulitis? 

  • What kinds of symptoms do you have?

  •  How many different doctors did you see before you were diagnosed?

  • What treatment(s) did you try before being officially diagnosed to treat your symptoms? Include treatment(s) either prescribed by a doctor or tried on your own.

  • What type of treatment (s) did you receive after being diagnosed? 

  • What kind of treatment(s) was effective if any? How effective was treatment(s)?

  • How does vulvar vestibulitis affect your sexual behavior? 

  • How does it affect your overall sexuality (for example, body image, sexual desire, orgasm, feeling like a sexual person)? 

  • How does vulvar vestibulitis affect your overall mental health (for example, feeling depressed or anxious)?

  • Are you currently in a relationship?  How has having vulvar vestibulitis affected your relationship?  If you are not currently in a relationship, how has having vulvar vestibulitis affected your dating life? 

  • Have you been able to talk with anyone in your life about your vulvar vestibulitis?

  • What kinds of support have you received for your vulvar vestibulitis besides your medical doctor?  Did you ever consider pursuing sex therapy for help with vulvar vestibulitis?  Why or why not?
